The Trial: A New Translation Based on the Restored Text by Franz Kafka
5.0
This book was a long awaited read, as i'd known about it for many years but hadn't read it.
It's a powerful, unpredictable, absurd, depiction of an ordinary man's powerlessness and the unknown, deliberately vague oppressors that take him through a unique trial.
It's an incredible piece of work that would lend itself to all sorts of theatrical and cinematic adaptation; the allegory is vague enough for lots of interpretation I think.
