Fall of Giants by Ken Follett
4.0

I really enjoyed this saga of 5 families through the First World War. Most of the action takes place in Europe with the English, German, Russian, and Welsh families. The characters for the most part were sympathetic and entertaining. What I really liked was the Follett resisted the need to kill off the main characters, which really was nice of him. Though over a 1000 pages, it was an enjoyable beach read as it covered the character's involvement in the war, labor movement, and women's right to vote.
