DARK HARVEST - NORMAN PATRIDGE
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
If you're collecting titles to pop on your October/ spooky season TBR look no further.
"Halloween, 1963. They call him the October Boy, or Ol’ Hacksaw Face, or Sawtooth Jack. Whatever the name, everybody in this small Midwestern town knows who he is. How he rises from the cornfields every Halloween, a butcher knife in his hand, and makes his way toward town, where gangs of teenage boys eagerly await their chance to confront the legendary nightmare. Both the hunter and the hunted, the October Boy is the prize in an annual rite of life and death."
I didnt know WTF was going on at the start but in the best way. The author really sets the scene early with descriptions of a halloween legend based in a small-town setting. It had classic halloween/teen horror vibes. I'll keep this short and sweet like the book - lots of action, fast paced and it did exactly what i needed it to to satisfy my horror needs.
