I would have given Siege of Rage and Ruin a higher score, but this was a SHORT book. It actually had a great story, and I was finally invested with all the characters. The action set-piece in the climax was fantastic. Everything just happened too fast, and it just ended so quickly. Another 50-100 pages would have made this much better, with more time to develop the Isoka and Tori’s relationships with others (especially between Tori and Avyn). And after spending quite a bit of time with Garo, he was just swept aside so abruptly. I just wanted more out of this. The bones were already there and had great potential, but not much time was given to add meat to the story.
