Lore by Alexandra Bracken

5.0

Lore was INCREDIBLE. With feminism to die for, incredibly unique modern Greek mythology, and a romance so precious one scene made me cry of happiness. Instantly one of my favourite couples. Bracken was an absolute genius when it came to plot. Easy to read for beginners to Greek mythology, the relatable contemporary setting and relationships work perfectly with the deep and complex characters, a twist on our typical Greek gods and goddesses. Lore was a long book, yet I didn’t find any parts slow, getting lost in the writing. The plot holds so much detail and societal/legend world building without once creating pause. If you don’t overthink the bloodlines etc, there’s no need to stop and think and it will be easy to understand with time. This masterpiece has everything you could want- your classic captivating group of misfits, friends to lovers to die for, constant action, and a girl boss who’s going to bring down gods.
