The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles

An impressive endeavor, but lacked in my opinion the character development for which the author is known and that made me love his prior works. Duchess’s complexity and Billy’s earnestness saved it for me, but Emmett felt one dimensional and I wanted to know more about Woolly and Sally and what happened to Ulysses. In any event, the writing was great and vivid as expected, but I wanted more layers from the characters and perhaps less plot in those 500+ pages.
