I LOVED this book. I've been absolutely enthralled for the past two days by the world of Alabaster Penitentiary and its inhabitants. If you've read this author before you won't be surprised that this book is dark, gritty and taboo. It is difficult to explain without talking about the plot and giving spoilers. This book feels taboo but if you stick with it is something bigger and better.
I thoroughly recommend reading the author's foreword with this one. It gives you a good idea of what to expect. This book might be dark and too triggering and challenging for some. But all I can say is stick with it. If you like a darker MM romance this book is incredible. It is a dark and difficult exploration of mental ill health, sexuality, acceptance and love. Dash and Kemper are soul mates through and through and their chemistry burns up the pages.
Distorted is hot, dark and emotional. It is a challenge to read at times but the characters are intriguing and beautifully crafted. I am in love with this world of the penitentiary and have so many questions about what is to come. This is one of best books I have read in ages.
