These Witches Don't Burn
by Isabel Sterling
After a few heavier reads recently, I was feeling the need for something light and fun and found a recommendation for this book. It was a fun, light read, so it worked on that level, but I just didn’t love it. I listened to the audiobook, and maybe part of the reason I didn’t love it was I wasn’t a huge fan of the narrator voice. But it might’ve also been the dialogue that was bothering me. I got really tired of hearing people say, “Hannaaaaaah.” It was also very obvious to me who the big bad was going to be from early on, and I kept hoping that I was wrong and there was some kind of twist coming but unfortunately it did not come. Maybe there will be more twists in the sequel, but I don’t know if I will read the second one.
