This is one of those books that I wish Good Reads had half stars. It definitely wasn't a 3-star book, but I have difficulties rounding it up to a 4-star book. The characters pissed me off so much.

Both are sports agents so an element of ruthless arrogance is par for the course. I did not like Jared. At all. I never warmed up to him in the nearly 400 pages. He acted like an overgrown toddler. "I saw her first" mentality and the constant "MINE!" caveman attitude...ugh. Banner was much more likeable, but even she had her moments. She dominates in her professional life, which I loved. Banner in the conference room...5 stars, Banner's personal life...WTF?! Its like she left all of her confidence, assertiveness, and self esteem at work. She would get around Jared and my intelligent, sexy, independent heroine would go weak in the knees and just thought with her lady bits. She knew what she was doing was wrong, she had so much guilt, so maybe don't string along your decade-long boyfriend/best friend/client while you get kinky with an old flame. I loved that the book featured a plus size heroine, but it took her the entire book to accept her curves. If it wasn't about Jared, it was about counting calories, working out, fat shaming, etc. I know all about body issues, I've been there, but girl every single guy who encounters you is slobbering all over themselves to get to you. You are HOT! Stop pulling that "you don't know you're beautiful" crap - lmao that Kennedy Ryan actually used the song in a scene.

I vaguely remember talking about the issues with love triangles when I rated Long Shot. It's not really a love triangle when one of them is a sociopath lol. Even though I knew Jared was end game, I was rooting for Zo all the way. He deserved so much better, and in the end I hope he gets his own book. He deserves it.
