I read this as part of a group reading/ book club and it took all of my willpower not to read ahead. This book was a roller coaster of a journey. It is such a beautiful journey to see Demon as he ages and the decisions he makes while being only young enough to be in community college at best. Demon’s predisposition for addiction is one of his downfalls. This book was a masterpiece of literary fiction that allows us a look inside the lives of people who live in Appalachia. It was so fascinating to Learn about mixed race people from that area. Also I think the idea that Demon was so persistent in continuing his drawing, is the reason he was able to keep his head above water while he lost so much around him. This was a great book and if you read it, let me know your thoughts!
