Sonny Rollins Plays the Bridge by Gary Golio, James Ransome

hopeful inspiring reflective relaxing medium-paced

4.0

A bright and colorful book set in New York City about  jazz legend Sonny Rollins. While not a full biography the book does speak to a time when Sonny Rollins pushed the pause button on life to hone his gift and get better acquainted with himself as an artist and as a man. The book is written in prose and has a lyrical beauty to it. The overall message of the book "Listen to the small voice inside of you."
