I LOVED this book! It was very bittersweet--beautiful yet tragic. I thought the writing was really excellent and immersive, and I loved the characters. Roya did get on my nerves a little at the beginning because she seemed so passive, but she grew on me quickly and I came to really appreciate her quiet inner strength. Zari was very relatable for me because she was irritating, yet level-headed and reasonable and she kind of reminded me of myself. And, of course, I loved Bahman.

The ending kind of crushed me, but at the same time it wa shovelful and peaceful, if very very sad.
