My first Spanish book of 2025! It’s been probably a decade since I read a book in Spanish. It was surprisingly difficult to read, and I’m not sure if it’s because I chose a classic and an author like Gabriel Garcia Marquez, or because my Spanish needs work. Maybe a combination of both? Either way, this was an interesting story. The concept of chronicling a death was very interesting and I think this book painting a very vivid picture of this town and the time in which it was set. The writing was beautiful and descriptive, although if I’m being honest it made it a bit difficult to read in Spanish. I’m sure I had read this in English I would have loved it.
