babaroga 's review for:
Tartuffe, by Molière
by Molière, Molière
I liked this a lot, especially the beginning where there were parts that legitimately made me laugh out loud, which is something that doesn't happen very often to me. The writing is really clever (and the translation was SO good) and I found this play to be a really interesting commentary on an often present hypocrisy amongst certain religious people, especially back in the day. The reason I'm not giving it 5 stars tho is that, while the message is on point, how we got there was kinda bland, the whole story is pretty basic and should have been more interesting. Nonetheless, it was a very enjoyable read.
