Two FBI agents investigates a child sex trafficking ring. He's dedicated, protective with an iron will while she's tough, with mad ninja skills and hidden pain. I loved their romance, it feels believable and real despite the short time. They forged a bond even with him in a coma, and things are intense from the moment he woke up. They continue falling deeper and there's a feel of kindred souls.
I adored his sweetly protective side, and the tender moments where they support and heal each other. Though there's a need to overlook the fact they're getting hot and steamy days out from his induced coma (I managed to 😂). Suspense wise, it's solid and gritty, but also very very hard to read at times - the villains are *really* sick bastards. The team spirit is great, loved Kate's friendship with Deacon (who is awesome).
