A Soul of Ash and Blood
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
This book was not what I expected, but was still enjoyable nonetheless. I was bummed at first when I realized it was a retelling of past events from Cas’ point of view, but was pleased with how quick and easy the storyline was. Armentrout did a good job of selecting the highlights and giving the reader what they want- action and romance (at least that’s what I enjoy). Plus some other knowledge from Cas that we didn’t get from Poppy’s pov.
The next book is supposed to be a compilation of things from Ms. Willa. Im looking forward to it, but would really like to know when the next book in the series is going to come out.
…..
Review I started to write before I finished the book…
I did not know that this book was what it was. I thought that it was the 4th book in the series, but it’s more of a “companion” novel.. The beginning of the book follows the plot line but the entirety of the book is a recap of everything that has already happened, except from Cas’ point of view. Athough this is the case, it is still an interesting and captivating read.
