My wonderful little political drama became a dumpster fire about an invading cult of sex witches. I wish I stopped at book 4.
Literally almost _nothing happened_ for the first 300 pages. No interesting themes explored, no plot points to be discussed, nada. Just one of the invading witches slowly becoming part of another group of witches.
Maybe there's value in this book, but I ain't seeing it. Reading this felt like diving into Frank Herbert's fetishes and I'm not about that. Books 1-4 were amazing and I love them to pieces. Go read those instead.
