Overall, I liked this book and I will give the others in the series a chance. But personally, there wasn't enough suspense and tension that comes with the territory of mafia anything, let alone the higher stakes of romance. It doesn't have to be a copious amount, but enough for me as the reader to believe this Devil means business beyond a couple of low stakes (for him) encounters with creeps regarding his wife, since I kind of felt like I was reading an abridged version of the story. Ava was also fairly unlikable, I kept feeling frustrated about her continuing to be obtuse about Link's intentions and affections. But it's fine, I'm still willing to explore the rest of this world.
