A Duet with the Siren Duke by Elise Kova

Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.

I am normally a huge fan of Elise Kova’s writing, but this felt very slow and like swimming through gelatin. I remember Elise Kova often mentioning how this book fought her tooth and nail while she was writing it, and it was like I could feel that. I could feel that this book did not bring her joy to write. During a time when I am consuming so many books and have even more constraints on my time, I just don’t feel the need to force myself to finish a book I’m not enjoying. While I’m sad that I don’t like this book,  I will still continue to pick up Elise Kova’s other books.
