I struggled a lot with this one. I bounced off the first chapter, told myself I didn't wait 4 months on a library hold to immediately DNF it, and made myself read the whole thing. To be perfectly honest, what kept me going was that this is the closest to a queerplatonic relationship I have seen in fiction, and I am a starved aro ace who is willing to eat any crumbs I can find. It wasn't until around the 70% mark that I was hooked. I strongly disliked our two main characters though.
Graphic: Death of parent, Grief, Mass/school shootings, Vomit, Car accident, Racism, Toxic relationship, Sexism, Injury/Injury detail, Medical content, Gun violence, Suicide, and Suicide attempt
Moderate: Pregnancy, Ableism, Antisemitism, Abortion, Homophobia, and Infidelity
Minor: Sexual content, Eating disorder, Cancer, and Classism
I really wish we had some different content warnings - this book contains homophobic slurs, BDSM as a tool of abuse, and a student/professor relationship where both parties are adults.
