Thirteen Storeys

I really, really wanted to like this... Jonathan Sims of Magnus Archives fame, I had high hopes...
13 perspectives is simply too many perspectives for a book to have and this felt like a slog. Ngl, I skimmed the last 2 or 3 chapters. Maybe I'm too stuck on Magnus but when I forced myself to read certain paragraphs slowly, it felt like these chapters might be better suited to audio. To be fair, it must be a huge transition to switch from not only writing but world-building for the page rather than for audio. It felt like a big miss to me. There was way too much packed into <300 pages with the end result that you don't end up with a real connection to the characters. Solid writing during the gorier moments though! I just think it was a litttttle too ambitious.
