Different Seasons by Stephen King

5.0

As a whole, Different Seasons is one of King's most important work in showing he is not merely a horror writer. Contained in the stories are two of King's best 5 film adaptations (The Body AKA Stand by Me and Shawshank Redemption - the other 3 best probably being Misery, The Green Mile, and The Shining) and two other good novellas to round it out. Apt Pupil is the most surprising in its intensity, Shawshank is the best overall, The Body is reminiscent and heartfelt, and the Breathing Method is the worst of them but mysteriously interesting nonetheless.
