This is the 1st book in the Whyborne & Griffin series and was one of the first MM PNR books I read. The characters are great, lovable and unique in their own rights, With the "baddies" being just the right flavor for the feel of the book and the world it's set in. This book is just the right amount of charm, humor and steam mixed with the mystery , paranormal and spooky. it all balances out into a well rounded story.
I think one of the things I appreciate the most with this book is that it's straight and to the point. There isn't any fluff and filler to pad the book page/word number out... and no huge info-dumps. This makes for an enjoyable and exciting read and great start to the series!
