I was a little skeptical of this one going in. I was excited but super-heroes have never really been my thing. I will watch them on the screen occasionally but I have never read a romance book with a superhero before and I am not upset this was my first one!  I related so hard to the FMC, Vanessa when it came to her social anxiety. She also has PTSD from a horrific childhood. Vanessa runs a PR firm and is trying to pitch Pyro, aka Roland to switch from being a villain to being a superhero. Let’s just say their first meeting did not GO well and I wanted to punch Roland. But he is enticed to come to the superhero side and get Vanessa to sign a contract and that is ALL I am sharing about that.  I think you have to go in knowing that Roland is kinda an ass at times. He is grumpy against all humans (totally can relate) but Vanessa. And if you look at him through the lens of being kinda like one of those possessive monster romance love interests who grows on you so fast, yeah… that’s him. But you have been warned there are a couple times you want to reach through the book and smack him.  I also really love the found family Vanessa has with her coworkers who rally around her. Her adopted family is also amazing and I loved them so much. I really am looking forward to book 2.
