Dying of Politeness by Geena Davis

4.0

I’ve been a fan of Geena Davis for years. The memoir provides a look inside her life from a young age. She’s funny, neurotic, serious, and smart. I wish Commander In Chief was still on the air. Her movie The Long Kiss Goodnight is an all time favorite of mine.

I wanted to give the memoir 5 stars for all Geena Davis has done to bring equality to the screen. She lead the way, read the book!

I found however, that there were a few discrepancies in the timelines or it may have been how certain events were laid out in the chapters. I enjoyed the book until she skipped over the entirety of her last marriage and birth of her children. She skipped over a decade of her life. I found myself on the web to research the name of her fourth husband to whom she was married for 17 years according the web. It made for an awkward end to the book.
