I started this a year ago because originally it was my “transit book”. I would read it on the bus or train. When COVID hit I wasn’t too keen on reading it, as it seems I needed a situation to force me to. The Catcher in the Rye is my all time favourite book but I feel like these stories just don’t capture Salinger’s strengths as a writer. The plots weren’t very engaging and I hated every single character in every story. I still look forward to reading Franny and Zooey but I had to force myself to finish this one.
