I love this book! It follow Jess who was living in the US and recently moved back to Malaysia with her parents. Her grandmother recently passed away and unexpectedly visit Jess. This is a story about ghost, gods, and spirits centered around Malaysian culture. It’s also about feminism and learning to be authentic in a family culture that might not allow for that. You really watch Jess come into her power and help another woman do the same. It’s a beautiful story.
