Revenge of the Scapegoat by Caren Beilin

5.0

the other day someone asked me what the book i was reading was about and i had a hard time coming up with an answer that wouldn’t make me sound absolutely unhinged. “it’s about inter-generational trauma and the social psychology of holocaust tourism”, “it’s about a woman who goes to the country to escape her addict boyfriend after being confronted with painful memories. also her anthropomorphic feet complain and make running commentary on the events of the book, like statler and waldorf from the muppets but her feet. and there are nazi cows.” poignant, thoughtful, often hilarious. a great read.
