The story picks up 2 months after the events of the previous book and 5 attempts on Jewel's life and her power grows. I like this one because we get to see more of her den, mostly Teller and Finch.
We also get to learn more about Meralonne who has always been a bit mysterious through out both series.
As we're so far into the series at this point I can't say much else without spoilers but Jewel has finally started to grow up which is nice as she's been neglecting her talent this entire series but her new abilities finally convince her it's time that she learn if only to protect those that she loves.
