I'm not quite sure exactly what I expected from The Midnight Library, but I know that the book itself didn't quite hit the mark I was wanting it too. I was hoping for a feeling closer to The Starless Sea, which it most certainly was not. This isn't the book's fault, it isn't a *bad* book, it's just not really my thing. The first half of the book was alright, it was cool to see all the different lives Nora could have lived, but I felt like the conclusion, that her root life was the only life she could be happy in, was a rather obvious one, as soon as she mentioned that she felt like an outsider and imposter in every other life she tried. I did get a little emotional during the ending, it was nice to see Nora finally experience some form of happiness that was hers alone, but I still think it could've been better. All in all a decent book, but definite trigger warnings for self harm and suicide, as well as death and substance abuse.
