This book was weird.
I liked the first 80% of it. Even though it had a love triangle, I had no problem with it because the author made it obvious who Magnolia would ultimately end up with—which I like. And the author made it obvious by SHOWING it to us through their text messages with each other. And I loved that Magnolia ended up with him.
Finally a book where an FMC actually chooses a guy that actually she BONDS with through genuine conversations. A guy who’s actually genuinely interested in her as a PERSON. I truly enjoyed their banter, his genuine interest and admiration of her, truly.
The humor in this book was okay too. The author’s wittiness in her prose made the humor, and I liked that.
ON THE OTHER HAND.
The last 20% of the book was poorly put-together in my opinion. It was almost like the deadline was on the author’s ass so she just threw in whatever to make it stick.
