Agatha H and the Airship City by Phil Foglio, Kaja Foglio

4.0

A good story that I felt uses steampunk more as a magic system than a setting which made it easy to get through. With very likable characters with understandable villains the first installment of this series sets off strong with one glaring exception. What in the world was with the super rushed, inconsistent romance? Could have been handled much more professionally, even a cliche romance would have been better than what they gave us. Fortunately the strange romance aspect of the book didn't take away from the lovely story telling and rich fantasy world the Foglios have created. I will likely continue the series at a future date.
