A tough read, but worth it for the underlying commentary on the issues facing women and mothers these days: maternity leave (especially in the US), career vs parenthood, competition and jealousy between women, stay at home parents vs working parents, etc. It felt like the author had some things she wanted to say on these topics, and the story was just a mechanism to get those points across (and I appreciated that!).
