Gallant by V.E. Schwab

Idk why this hasn’t received the same kind of hype as Vicious or Addie Larue. It follows the same thematic angle as her other works, it’s intriguing, the characters are all memorable, it’s well paced, and it has a satisfying conclusion. Tonally it feels like The Secret Garden and Coraline mishmashed together without losing Schwab’s identifiable style. Plus it just FEELS good to read, which I think is her biggest strength as an author.
