Holy crap. That was a lot better than I thought. This book was simmering and dragging on at about 3 stars until about the 46% mark. I kept asking "Where are we going with this? Yay for Kel, Lin, and Connor going about their days. Yes, Kel was working with the nefarious Ragpicker King, but that was his new norm now.

Well, at the halfway point, we finally saw a glimpse of who the real bad guy was. Now we were finally getting somewhere. We were uncovering the bad guy. We were getting closer and closer. Of course, things couldn't just work out for everyone (because otherwise this would have been a duology lol).

Overall this book was a lot better than the first one. Queue lies. Queue political intrigue. Queue betrayals. Even though you could see things from almost everyone's point of view, you still didn't know their true motivations.

Looks like I would be counting down until the next book comes out!
