Margo's Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe

5.0

There are a few hyperspecific book subgenres that are like catnip for me, and one of them is "mouthy, chaotic, smart but perhaps underachieving gal faces adversity, takes charge, changes her life, and makes good against a fun-as-hell backdrop of lovable weirdo supporting characters" (see also, THE ROXY LETTERS) (it *just may be* because I see myself as one of those gals). MARGO'S GOT MONEY TROUBLES delivers everything I love about this little niche of manic pixies, with all the fun of OnlyFans sexy alien personas, former pro-wrestler dads, and extreme Arby's fandom. A heart-wrenching delight.
