3.5

This was a relatively quick read about a boy struggling with food and housing insecurity, and the reappearance of his imaginary friend. As he reflects upon why his imaginary friend has reappeared in this moment, he also works through his emotions and feelings regarding the transitions within his family as they struggle to keep a roof over their head and food in their stomachs. Such an important perspective for a younger audience experiencing similar issues, with a touch of magic and hope to help inspire them.
