Annie on My Mind
by Nancy Garden
I didn't think that I was going to love this book as much as I did. Were there parts that were outdated? Sure. But overall, this was a beautiful book about two girls who developed a friendship that blossoms into something more. They're just two seventeen-year-olds trying to navigate and understand the love between the two.
I thought that the writing was lovely, and it really just deals with acceptance of oneself. I enjoyed reading Liza's letters to Annie and her reflections on the past. To me, it really highlighted and emphasized the love between the two girls. I don't think I can recommend this book enough.
