Call the Midwife: Farewell to the East End by Jennifer Worth

5.0

The last of Jennifer Worth's three memoirs about her life working as a nurse and midwife in London's East End in the '50's with the nuns of Nonnatus House. I am so glad she wrote these books. It is so interesting to read a good story--even a painful and sad story--when it really happened. Worth had a talent for telling a story--no matter how grave--in way that wasn't voyeurist (I'm not sure if that is the perfect word, but it's the one that comes to mind) in nature. She was truly empathetic and nonjudgmental.
