I picked this one up because I was interested in the setting and I like Brittany Pressley as a narrator. Unfortunately I wasn’t a fan of the plot or characters. I don’t think the author gives the four main female characters (three sisters, one daughter) much depth: Harper is gay and rides horses, Pam is a go-getter, Deb is.. there. Vivian is at least interesting; she’s Pam’s high-school aged daughter, also gay, and going through relationship troubles. The book has the sisters reminiscing about their childhoods and talking about money, but these facts didn’t mesh together nicely to help me understand the characters’ motivations. I did tune out through parts of the book, so maybe I missed something?
