Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes

5.0

This feminist retelling of Greek mythology is simply brilliant. Haynes is incredibly skilled and really paints very vivid and realistic dialogue. These dialogues had me angry and then laughing, or exasperated and then riveted. The pace of change through manipulation or fawning at Gods, meant that the whole time it felt like anything could happen.

Having been intrigued by Greek mythology as a child, but never having really studied it or explored it, the stories had the echo of familiarity, but I also felt the fresh female empowerment throughout.
