They Both Die at the End by Adam Silvera

4.0

Wow, I never imagined I'd be so heartbroken by an ending that is literally spoiled in the title of the book. This book took my heart and ripped it into many shreds. I'm not typically the sort to get emotional when I read (which is surprising because I'm the most emotional person ever) but this made me teary!!

On September 5, Mateo and Rufus separately receive the same phone call - within the next 24 hours, they'll be dead. Using an app called Last Friend, the two band together and live out their last day - and come to term with their final regrets - together. The book follows Mateo and Rufus through their final moments as they learn the last, but arguably the most important lessons of their lives.

This book took me on an emotional ride that I'll never forget. While there were a few slow spots, I mostly found myself on the edge of my seat, anxiously waiting to see what would happen next. The countdown on each chapters gave me freaking anxiety. But I loved it!
