Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes

5.0

"That's the thing about human life--there is no control group, no way to ever know how any of us would have turned out if any variables had been changed."

So, this book was sad. We can definitely get that out of the way. But it was the best kind of sad.

Flowers for Algernon is the kind of book that you don't ever forget about once you've read it. So much of the book speaks to you personally (due to it's many reflections on society, intelligence, and the human spirit), and it's amazing how Daniel Keyes was able to create this whirlwind of ups and downs in a novel.

Please read this book. You won't regret it.
