If She Had Stayed
by Diane Byington
Kaley is a woman on a mission to create a great museum in Colorado commemorating the life of Nikola Tesla. Through her search for artifacts and ideas for the museum she comes across some of Tesla's sacred journal pages where he talks about how he invented a way to travel through time. It's not perfected but its intriguing to Kaley and she wonders if she should try to be just like Tesla and try it too. She has some situations from her past she would like to fix, like her terrible break up with her college boyfriend, Scott. Will she travel through time alone, or with someone else? Will she alter her life and the lives of others? What will happen afterwards? This story took a TURN at the end. I got such a thriller vibe and I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen to Anna/Kaley. I got a little confused with how Kaley and Anna were intertwined during the time travel but all in all it was an enjoyable book! I'm a huge fan of books that are educational as well as enjoyable so I loved learning about Tesla and his inventions. It made me think about whether I would time travel if given the opportunity. Would you?
