Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong

5.0

This is legitimately one of the best books I’ve ever read.

What really impressed me was the setting and politics and plot because holy smokes was everything so well done. The TENSION with some of these scenes!! I was so stressed out for the entirety of the last half of the book— there was barely a moment to breathe.

The CHARACTERS brought their A-Game. There probably wasn’t a single moment where I wasn’t haven’t a freak out about someone’s well-being and safety. And oh my gosh the angst between Roma and Juliette…

Even though I loved Chloe Gong’s writing in the last book, I felt like she grew so much in this one. There are so many quotes that just punch you in the gut and so many moments I loved.

Did I cry? Yes. I was initially shocked by how many people I saw before I read this say that they sobbed their eyes out but now all I can say is yeah… that’s reasonable.
