The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
5.0

Neil Gaiman is a story telling mastermind!

"There was a hand in the darkness, and it held a knife." ---> What a creepy first line!

This is the first Gaiman book I have read, but I have enjoyed all of the cinematic versions of his stories. I decided it was time to actually read one of them.

"You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change."

Even though this book is marketed as "ages 10 and up," it can absolutely be enjoyed by adults!

The story of a boy whose is the sole survivor after his family is murdered, and gets raised by the inhabitants of a nearby graveyard is definitely a creepy, fast paced tale for everyone!

I loved all the paranormal references. Sandman was the most recent Gaiman TV series that I watched and this book felt very similar to that in it's inclusion of many types of characters and beautiful writing.
