Amazing continuation. So much of what was done right in book 1 continues in book 2. The characters, even the ones I despise, are so well written and complex. I got so hooked with the emotional roller coasters of their arcs that I got genuinely happy, upset, everything in between as the plot turns continued to happen. Again the book does a great job driving the plot along and concluding in a decently satisfying way, but leaves plenty of hooks for book 3. I’m upset I have to wait a while for it to come out, I want to read it now!

The creeping horror aspect of it (mostly body horror), still hits me pretty hard; bad enough I had to turn the light on at night at one point lol. Could just be me, as replacing bodies, copying minds, losing control of your mind/body, and the extreme uses of those concepts have always creeped me out. Be warned anyway if you’re like me; the story is worth powering through it though.

Tarquin and Naira are so good together, freakin love them
