felt a little too on-the-nose in terms of its representation of patriarchy (women have their literal power literally suppressed) and a little too unquestioning of the benefits of a woman attaining power (despite how violent that takeover is) but the concept was really cool and the way ancient chinese history was woven into the narrative was really well done
