The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well by Meik Wiking

5.0

I was a bit skeptical at first because I don't think I've met anyone who doesn't like feeling warm, or spending time with loved ones. I wasn't sure if the author was trying to make it seem like he had discovered a brand new way to find happiness. But about 2 chapters in, I was hooked & am now obsessed with all things hygge.

Things this book accomplished:
1) Made me excited about researching Denmark.
2) Made me want to visit Denmark in the winter months even though all of my research says it's the worst time to go.
3) Made me light some candles, drink some tea, and spend time doing something I love (reading by candlelight with a tea-filled mug), instead of staying busy after I got home from work. Wow. Very hygge. Much warm.

There's a lot to be said about living life slowly, and this book reminded me that I need to get better at doing just that.
