Marianne & Connell are both from the same small town of Ireland, and they meet because Connell’s mother works as a housemaid for Marianne’s mother (therefore have different ranks in society). Well, through the course of a few years, they manage to weasel their way in & out of eachother’s lives as they grow up and find their true identities.

I enjoyed this one. It really enamored the act of loving someone despite our social standing, background, or circumstances. I knock off a star because of the abrupt ending which left much to be desired. Felt like we didn’t get full closure. I realize some are fine with these types of endings, it just isn’t for me
